After a rigorous selection and judging process, “My Little Moon” stood out to the jury for its artistic vision, compelling narrative, and cinematic quality, ultimately earning the festival’s top honor.

Ali Atshani, known for his bold and human-centered storytelling, expressed his gratitude upon receiving the award:

“It is a great honor for me and my team to receive the Best Film Award here in Edinburg. This recognition not only belongs to me but to every member of the cast and crew who poured their energy and passion into ‘My Little Moon’. Festivals like STXIFF are vital for independent filmmakers, and I am truly grateful to the jury and the organizers for supporting our work.”

The festival’s closing ceremony, held at the Edinburg Conference Center, brought together filmmakers, industry professionals, and cinema enthusiasts for an evening celebrating creativity and achievement. In addition to screenings, the festival hosted workshops, panels, and networking events, further cementing its role as a hub for film culture in South Texas.
